Bill Zimmer is a cross-disciplinary creative with a focus on web and ecommerce and extensive experience within the beauty, fashion, entertainment, and music industries.
He is formerly the Creative Director for the beauty booking & coupon site Lifebooker.com where he oversaw the company’s creative vision and its digital retail and marketing program, as well as contributing to functional areas including technology, marketing, CRM, merchandising, and customer care. In his role as Creative Director, Bill oversaw the graphic design, photography, retouching, social media, email production, and editorial teams to set the visual image of the brand in all media.
Bill was formerly the Art Director for Urban Outfitters. Reporting to the Director of E-commerce, he oversaw the design team for the company’s direct-to-consumer business. Bill’s creative leadership of Urban Outfitter’s email program helped to grow the profit of the e-commerce division by double digits every quarter. Along with e-commerce responsibilities, Bill led the design team in creating many successful marketing programs with a focus on mobile, music, lifestyle, youth culture, and social media.
He has also worked with top fashion brands such as Kate Spade, Jack Spade, and Steven Alan acting as a liaison and consultant between the brands and their outside design firms to build strong e-commerce experiences for their customers. While at Kate Spade he was influential in restructuring the e-commerce program to align more closely with the needs of the e-commerce business team by introducing the use of data to help drive sales and increase the effectiveness of the email program with stronger key messaging, CTAs and mobile optimization. In doing this Kate Spade saw it's first million dollar sales day and increases daily sales by over 35% on average as well as their first million dollar day in sales from the website alone.
His work has been recognized by the AIGA, the Art Directors Club, Young Guns, and Promax/BDA.
Bill earned his BFA in Communication Design from Pratt Institute.
